Do I Need to be Certified to be a Coach?I frequently get asked if you need to get certified to be a coach. Here’s a video that addresses that. Certification offers a lot of training in the skill sets you need to be of optimal service to your clients. In my coaching programs, I cultivated how to deeply listen for what’s being said and what’s not being said, how to ask questions that reveal deeper truths, how resistance works, how to evoke excellence in others and so much more.That being said, many of my colleagues and I struggled to build a viable coaching business even though we had developed these incredible skills that can be applied to all areas of life. Certification does not guarantee that you will build a thriving practice. Some people think that it will give them the confidence to charge and that doesn’t always happen. I’m a big fan of training, growth and learning when it comes to growing your coaching skills and only you know if you need it to be your best. If you are looking for a coaching certification look for one that will give you in depth business training or be prepared to add that to your education.
