FROM SKILLS TO PAID SERVICES

yonijeans

I recently had a really fun coaching call talking to a client about vaginas. You see my client is a sexual wellness coach and I was helping her create her course outline for an upcoming class. I have come to discover that helping clients create content is a natural skill I didn’t know I had.

One of the things I see in my coaching business and especially working with women is how easy it is to take our “natural” gifts for granted. The reason is a lot of women mistake talents that may come to them easily as something everybody already knows, not something that people would actually pay for or they simply don’t realize it’s a marketable skill.

The good news is that the things that you are best suited to coach are the things that come naturally to you. Some of us are great at talking about vaginas and helping women to heal and enjoy their bodies. Some of us are great at helping women with their finances because we are awesome stewards of money. Some of us seem to always have harmonious relationships and can help those who feel like it’s rocket science.

Someone out there is stuck, in pain, frustration, confusion or overwhelm around something that is or has become easy for you. Your service or product is the bridge to get them to the other side.

What comes naturally to you as a coach?

ARE YOU COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHER COACHES?

femaleathletes

In the online space it can very easy to compare yourself to what other coaches are doing. Someone else has a bigger following, better pictures, a nicer website, more expensive packages, products galore. The list is endless!

I actually don’t think there is anything wrong with comparing yourself to others. It can be a way to find out who you are and who you aren’t. What you want and what you don’t. It can inspire ideas and creativity. The problem is when comparison makes you feel less than and has you doubt the contribution YOU can make.

Can you make a conscious decision to not negatively compare yourself to what other coaches are doing and saying? Your business is YOUR journey of personal development and growth. Everyone is at different stages in their confidence, skill level, experience, belief in themselves etc. Give yourself a chance to find out who you are as an entrepreneur and what you stand for.

Can you relate to judging yourself and business based on your perception of another coach?

WHO DO YOU WANT TO WORK WITH?

One of the ways to determine the type of client you DO want to work is to determine the type of client you DON’T want to work with.

Then flip the script to uncover your true desire.

For example,

I don’t want to work with people who constantly argue for their limitations and why they aren’t good enough.

Becomes——————-–>

I want to work with people who constantly search for possibilities and see or are willing to see their worthiness.

Do you have your list of what you are and are not looking for in a client? Having this kind of clarity is so awesome because when you have conversations with potential clients you can tell quickly if it’s a fit.

EXTRA CREDIT~ Ask yourself if you show up as the person you do/don’t want to attract. Course Correct with LOVE if necessary!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO FEEL READY

MikeandIbabyshower

I’ve always known that I wanted to be a mother and have children. However, when I found out I was pregnant, I felt nervous and scared. I didn’t know how my life would change, how my body would change and how my ability to pursue the things I wanted out of life would be impacted. The thought of going from single, carefree woman to stable parent, putting someone else’s needs before my own was daunting.

I wondered if I was emotionally and financially READY to take on this life changing responsibility. Not to mention, I had terrible morning sickness all day long the first trimester AND I had broken out in hives for the first time in life, which lasted for months. NOT FUN!

Yet, somehow, I knew this was my child and I stepped out on FAITH that I would grow into who I needed to be. I took becoming a mother step by step and I still am. I began to seek out professionals that would support me in having an empowering pregnancy and birth experience. I found a midwife and a doula. I took hypnosis for childbirth. I watched beautiful videos of childbirth and breastfeeding. I got a belly cast and had some beautiful pictures of me taken while pregnant.

As the months went by the fear subsided and I couldn’t wait to meet my daughter. Stepping into the unknown of childbirth and motherhood taught me so much about TRUST. I deepened into the knowing that you don’t have to have it all figured out. Life REALLY does usher to support you when you step out on FAITH. This has come in the form of money, clothes, toys, help, advice, and so much more.

I think starting and growing a business is like being in gestation and giving birth. It’s never EXACTLY as you had planned. I don’t know that you can be fully “ready” for a baby or to to take the next leap in your business. You just don’t know what you don’t know until you are there. But when you say YES and keep putting one foot in front of the other and gather your resources of guidance, the way will be made clear.

Today, I invite you to dismantle this idea of readiness in favor of choosing to move forward in your business even though you may not feel “ready”. You can choose to take the next step. That might be hosting a workshop, setting up your FB page, writing that blog post, reaching out to a potential client, making an offer, following through on some divine inspiration, etc. The path of FAITH will teach you everything you need to know and will bring you the people and resources you need!❤️

P.S~ I was 8 months pregnant in this photo with my daughter Naima.
